Thanks to everyone who joined in with our April Fool joke on Tameside Radio yesterday. Of course, there will be no oil drilling in Tameside!
So many people were good sports and joined in with the gag, including two of our local MP’s, Andrew Gwynne and James Purnell, the construction workers in Dukinfield who were happy to pose for pictures in their high-vis jackets, and Jay “Roadie” in his cowboy gear! The voice of oil baron Cliff Barnes (remember Dallas?) was provided by Gerry, a friend of the station in New York. And thanks to all the team at As One design in Hyde for creating the fictional oil company Endamol, complete with website! Over 100 people visited the site in the couple of hours the joke was running, and quite a few even registered their interest for shares!
